Wineries in Kelowna

A Kelowna, Oliver and Naramata grape just aren't the same; take a wine tour and find out. Kelowna is located in the cooler, moister Central Okanagan Lake wine region. Kelowna’s climate, soil and terrain make its grapes different from those in the Okanagan River and Southern Okanagan Lake wine regions. Read about Kelowna’s wine growing history in the Kelowna Geology Committee’s recent book, Okanagan Geology. It states that wine production experiments first began in the Okanagan during the early 1900’s. Approximately 4,200 Okanagan vineyard acres produce the following and other wine varietals: Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and internationally renowned ice wines. The wine industry is an important part of Kelowna's rich agricultural heritage.
